The Doctor opened the doors of the TARDIS while she idly floated through space. The celestial bodies orbited one another with infinite beauty and perfection. Everything balanced everything right…

The Doctor closed his eyes and listened. His Time Lord senses drawing in the time lines of every species, of every person, of every...fact.

Jack was always there in the back of his mind. How could he not be? The only constant the Doctor could find; it stuck out at him, mocked him...loved him. The Time Lords had told him that there could be no fact in time. They told him it was impossible.

When had he been the one to run from the impossible? He had been the exact opposite; he had run from the inevitable. He travelled to prove against the impossible things, but he had run from Jack, because he thought he was wrong, but right here, right now he could gaze deeply into the time lines and he saw it.

Jack wasn’t just a fixed point. He was a necessary point. All of time and space revolved around his timeline. He made life possible.

He was beautiful…
