Writer's Block: Poetry Break
Jan. 10th, 2012 05:27 pm[Error: unknown template qotd]Write one? No, Mr. Left Brain doesn't agree with that sort of thing (he's much happier with my math homework). Share, sure I love reading poetry.
Shakespeare's 97(?) sonnet.
How like a winter hath my absence been
From thee, the pleasure of the fleeting year!
What freezings have I felt, what dark days seen!
What old December's bareness everywhere!
And yet this time removed was summer's time;
The teeming autumn, big with rich increase,
Bearing the wanton burden of the prime,
Like widow'd wombs after their lords' decease:
Yet this abundant issue seemed to me
But hope of orphans, and unfathered fruit;
For summer and his pleasures wait on thee,
And, thou away, the very birds are mute:
Or, if they sing, 'tis with so dull a cheer,
That leaves look pale, dreading the winter's near.

ETA: I didn't think I hit submitt when I went to walk Baron, but oh, well. I was just gonna add that it would combine two things I love History and kids--love kids and would probably enjoy elementary as well, but I don't want to take the psychology classes.

Dec. 18th, 2011 07:51 am[Error: unknown template qotd]No, it's in the low 70's...The last snow was over 20 years ago. (I really love South Georgia.) I've never seen snow before, the closest I got was in elementary school at recess people found frost on the slides and threw it at me, (snowball fight?).
ETA: I thought y'all might like to see a picture of what it's looking like here at the beach to show just how much snow there isn't. That green tree isn't an ever green. :) And there's actually some northerners in the water (no one native to our little town is though--the water's like 60 degrees. Brrrr!)

I love just hanging with my dad, we're always been really close especially since when were growing up my Mom was always working no less than three jobs at a time, and all of them full time (don't ask I don't even try to figure her out), she has evened out though, she's only got two now. Me and DTH roughhouse like brothers, even though I'm a girl, we're so competitive, but that's when we bond best, when we're seeing who can shoot the best bull's-eye or who can win in a race or something. Me and my mom don't really spend time together much since she's usually working and when she comes home she's really tired. Sometimes she teaches me to fold things like egg-rolls, dumplings, and wantons (I have to learn all three or get married--which ever comes first--before I can learn the ingredients or how to cook them.).

Nov. 20th, 2011 08:02 am[Error: unknown template qotd]Baron running. I would show you a picture of him, but to be honest when I try I get a really good shot of really blurry haunches, so here's so pics of other whippets running that are not mine.
Double Suspension:

The Dog on the right is a greyhound, but I'd like to point out who is winning. (Hee! I love greyhounds too--any kind of dog in fact, just not Bently (He's our yorkie that scares the pants off of Baron) , but whippets do have a longer endurance speed even if they're only the second fastest dog after the greyhound.)
And, here's one of Baron after a run; because he's my handsome boy.
ETA: This is the second answer I posted the other deleted one of the pictures, so I used two from my computer in stead.
