Yes! I still do get bullied, fairly frequently, but it's a whole lot better than it was in middle school. I was and still am a major nerd, science geek, lit freek, clutz, book worm, math 'guru' (I don't know), history buff, on the MUN team, conservative, and I'm short. Heehee, could I give them more to tease me about?
Elementry school was mainly teasing because I was sooooooo accident proned and jepoardy firendly. I tripped over a basket ball in gym class and ended up with tendonitis in my knee for months. And then I ran into a door and managed to dislocate my elbow. To put it bluntly I ended up on crutches about 7 times in elementry school, and it had enough x-rays and joint tests that I thought I would glow green from radiation. Plus, anyone with straight A's gets teased.
Middle School was when I really became a nerd, like I hung out with nerds, and they called me a nerd. I allways had a book in my hand and my free time fun was an algebra course and before that it was a college course on ethics and genetic engineering. Plus, I had glasses braces, and aparently no sense of style (what is a style sense?). Oh, and at lunch I did my homework and read. Math class is probably where I got hit by the teasing and taunting worst, because in sixth grade I had a teacher who never had a kid make an 'A' and I got out of his class with a 99%, sorry Mr.Woods :(. Then by eight grade when they merged classes I was top of my math class again, and showing the teacher how to work problems, so that might not have been the best way to make an impression on my peers.
High School is ok, I've only been in it for a few weeks now. The teasing isn't that bad now that we're separate again (AP/honors/accelerated, regular, and 'with assistance') Math is still torture to go to, because it's accelerated, but I'm still bored and if you're bored and the rest of the class is struggling, then that's never a good thing in your peers eyes. English is okay, but I haven't written anything creative yet, and the last time I submitted a creative writting assignment that was open hazing for about two weeks. (Perhaps a story with a girl that could talk to animals was not the best story to submit in seventh grade. I got an A on it though and the only deduction was for a few grammar errors.)
Anyway, anything physical stopped, sort of in Middle School, now it's just knocking down books or pulling hair, so no more tripping or anything, how awesome is that. I'm less of a nerd now though, I suppose. I still spend lunch reading, although now I'm allowed in the library (why wasn't I allowed in the library in middle school, when people stepped on my Doctor Who books?) I've found that in highschool there is a greater population of nerds so that's like traveling with friends in groups, plus we can talk about things like Scifi and not get laughed at. Wheee!
