Eight year old tear stained cheeks and wide eyes found their way to the night skies as short legs ran beneath him. The stars across the skies ran with the frightened Time Lord boy. They accompanied him as he darted away, and he wished on one as it fell.
Please, let me escape.
And, his wish was granted…

His world had burned, and he was alone and travelling the stars in a little blue box. His steel blue eyes glanced up at the stars and begged them with all of his hearts that they would help him to find his way through.
And they shifted and shined on a pink and yellow girl.

The Doctor felt his feet leading him to the unforgiving wall. He placed his hand on the wall and leaned his cheek against the wall. His eyes were open and seemed to stare into space, but he knew he was trying to fix them onto something—someone—who was not there.
He closed his eyes and asked to the stars to bring her back.
They twinkled their understanding, but knew that was beyond even them but they gave one of their own, so he could at least say goodbye.
